We only have Today
Last night, my very brave and very tired Spiritual Sister gave up her life and left this world. It had been a long hard passing, and her daughter was by her side at hospice. The nurses gave her a "Jesus Bath" to help her feel fresh and clean, then she gave one last sigh and she was gone.
Now there are no more phone calls, no more shopping trips, no more family Christmases together. There are only memories.
Each of us remembers someone whose presence in their life gives them a reason to continue on, even when they don't want to. Yet that memory is alive in our memory. Our very lives are echoes and reflections of the one who is now in heaven.
So with relief and regret mixed in my heart, I sat down to create this meme for today:
All we have is today ...
don't treat it like you can put it off...
to tomorrow.
The point is: LIVE! Live now. Live for today. When your book of life is closed and finished, your eternal life begins, and all of the stories you made in your time here can be shared with God, our Father.
